I !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! tonight to see if they could beat the trade offer I got from the Toyota dealer where !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! . The results were not unexpected, but also not spectacular.

The Toyota dealer offered me a $3000 "trade allowance" for my Jeep. Which is different from actual cash value—it's a way to play funny business with numbers. I told them I don't care what they call it, just tell me what they'll pay me for the Jeep, and how much I need to pay them for the 4Runner. I thought the $3k trade offer was fair, but the price on the 4Runner needs to come down from their current offer of $7491.
CarMax offered me $1700 straight up for the Jeep. Which means, I'm going to tell the Toyota dealership that I got held up at work and didn't have time to go to CarMax, because telling them about that $1700 doesn't help me in the slightest.
I know the price on the 4Runner is out of whack because I called my credit union where I have my loan for my Jeep, to get pre-approved on the 4Runner. They said the maximum loan amount for that VIN and my A+ credit rating is $7025. Which means there's no way in hell I should pay any more than $7025, and ideally I should pay less.
The saga continues....
